Honors & Awards

Over his professional career, Mr. Scafiddi has received numerous awards recognizing the excellent work he’s done for the Southern California community. In 2010, he was awarded the Kearney Nydam Award by the San Bernardino County Bar Association for “Outstanding Pro Bono Service in San Bernardino County for giving time, energy and expertise and encouraging others do to so.” In 2012, Mr. Scafiddi was presented the St. Thomas Moore Award by the Red Mass Steering Committee for Riverside and San Bernardino Counties for “Attorney or Judge showing service and devotion to church, community and justice”. In 2013 he was awarded the Access to Justice Award by the Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino for showing “selfless dedication and providing Pro Bono Services to insure access to justice for all”. Mr. Scafiddi was named a Top 100 Trial Lawyer for 2013-2014 and has the highest AVVO rating (10.0) since 2009. Most recently, Mr. Scafiddi was rated by Martindale Hubbell, the oldest National Lawyer Rating Service, as AV Preeminent 5.0/5.0! This is the highest rating a lawyer can attain. This rating means that the lawyer is recognized for their preeminent skills and the highest level of ethical behavior. Less than 5% of attorney in the nation attain an AV preeminent rating. In the Inland Empire, Mr. Scafiddi is now one of only a handful of attorneys practicing criminal defense and personal injury, that has the highest AV rating (5.0) and the highest Avvo rating (10.0).

As a police officer, Michael Scafiddi investigated a wide range of criminal cases, from DUI to child abuse, to robbery and carjacking. He gained a reputation as a straightforward and honest, yet relentless crime-solver. Additionally, as a police officer, Mr. Scafiddi was personally involved as an investigator in over 2,000 DUI arrests. In 1981, Mr. Scafiddi was designated a gang expert by the Superior Courts of the State of California. Mr. Scafiddi has testified over 150 times as a gang expert. In 1987, Mr. Scafiddi was recognized by the Superior Court of the County of San Bernardino as a certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
